Introduction

This system assists in the creation of your "home page" -- a personal website that you can share with your friends and family, and perhaps even the casual stranger. The tools allow you to be creative in producing a nice looking set of pages, without spending a lot of time learning and developing in Hyper Text Markup Language, the underlying language of the web. All of the technical stuff is handled automatically, so you can focus on creating and publishing content, without getting bogged down in details of making it work.

That is not to say that you couldn't learn HTML -- maybe you already have -- and find value in these tools. On the contrary, the toolbox includes both simple and advanced tools (and concepts) to empower an experienced webmaster to create dynamic, data-driven websites without investing time in the back-end coding. You will find the pre-developed layouts can be set aside, and made to "get out of the way" -- allowing completely customized, efficient and flexible design. Or something like that, the point is that even as Rob focuses on creating tools for the novice, he also is working to create the back-end for his own web development; the perspective of the experienced web developer has definitely been accomodated.

You be the judge -- if successfully implemented, any user should be able to invest a small amount of time learning some simple tools, and rapidly create a site that provides great experience for their audience. All that's required is a web browser and a willingness to try. This is a new project and there are still some missing pieces, so watch for even more in the near future.

Explore the "Toolbox Top" menu pages and take a quick inventory of the toolbox. Your web site initially is based on your weblog (blog) and a photo album, plus a list of "featured links". Most folk's homepages include features such as these -- play with the tools a bit, and when you are ready you can CLICK HERE to access extended help and walkthroughs [more need to be written, but another page is the right place for the following home page pointer messages...]
